O.C. top 10 girls lacrosse teams for the 2015 season.
1. Foothill: The Knights were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs last year. They’ve started this year in strong fashion winning the Rose Bowl Jamboree, outscoring opponents 33-6.
2. Trabuco Hills: The Mustangs were South Coast League champions last year and could be in line to make a big jump in the county.
3. Los Alamitos: The Griffins graduated serveral key pieces, but you can’t overlook them when it comes to the playoff chase. They’re the defending OC and Southern Section champions
4. Beckman: The Patriots have a pair of solid building blocks for this season with the return of two first-team all-county players.
5. Mater Dei: The Monarchs are led by sophomore Grace Houser. Houser earned first team all-county honors last year.
6. Corona del Mar: The future is now for the Sea Kings. Look for a strong group of sophomores and freshman goalie Ashley Olson to figure prominently this year.
7. San Clemente: The Tritons qualified for the playoffs last year and will look to build off of that momentum with eight starters returning
8. St. Margaret’s: The Tartans return a pair of second-team all-county midfielders in Cameron Manor and Noelani Murayama.
9. Aliso Niguel: The Wolverines advanced to the second round of the playoffs last year and should contend in the South Coast League.
10. Woodbridge: The Warriors returns their top six scorers from last year’s team. The key will be how things develop on defense.
