LA VERNE – KCI Thompson’s three touchdown runs helped Capistrano Valley Christian cruise past Webb, 42-14, Friday in a San Joaquin League matchup at Damien High.

Thompson rushed for 189 yards on 21 carries, and scored on runs of 67, 7 and 3 yards.

The Eagles (4-5, 3-1) got a 1-yard TD run from two-way starter Daniel Herber and Dylan Baird picked off Webb’s Wyatt Albert and brought it back 35 yards for the score.

Dawson Piper finished off the Gauls (5-4, 1-3) when he hit Ryan Rapattoni on a 16-yard TD pass early in the fourth quarter.

Rapattoni caught five passes for 114 yards and kicked all six extra-point attempts for the Eagles.

Piper was 8 of 13 for 152 yards and the score.

Herber rushed for 35 yards on five carries and caught two passes for 22 yards.

Capistrano Valley Christian finishes the regular season with another trip back to Damien next Friday to play Southlands Christian (6-3, 2-2) with a chance to wrap up second place.
