ORANGE – When Santa Ana Valley looks back at Saturday night’s 21-18 loss to Orange, the Falcons will be forced to think about missed opportunities.

Santa Ana Valley (0-4-1) missed all three extra-point attempts (two kicks, one pass), threw an interception in the end zone during a first-half drive, and then drove the ball well into Orange (3-2) territory before running out of time.

Trailing 21-18, and with 3:09 to play, Santa Ana Valley took over on downs at its own 18.

The Falcons drove all the way to the Orange 30 with 13 seconds to play, but they ran the ball up the middle and the clock ran out before they could get another play off.

Israel Guerrero had touchdown runs of 1 and 2 yards, and Malcolm Wesley scored on a 15-yard run for the Falcons.

Orange’s Kamron Craig had 85 yards on 11 carries, including touchdpwn runs of 10 and 2 yards.

Tymaj Cole led the Panthers with 112 yards, including a 26-yard touchdown, but the star running back left the game in the second half with an injured leg.

Santa Ana Valley’s Chris Hernandez rushed for a game-best 128 yards on 16 carries. Wesley added 96 yards on 13 carries for the Falcons.

Nick Vargas had an interception of Guerrero in the end zone, and a fumble recovery for Orange.
