LAGUNA HILLS – With a 42-20 victory in a nonleague game at home Friday against Woodbridge, Laguna Hills has gone from a 1-9 record last season to a 3-0 start this year.

Woodbridge is 1-3 after going 7-4 last year. Neither team has started league play.

Senior quarterback Mitch O’Hair led the way for the Hawks with five passing touchdowns, four of which were more than 40 yards. He was 8 of 11 for 251 yards with no interceptions.

O’Hair’s main receiver was senior wideout Malik Richardson-Smith, who had five catches for 147 yards and three touchdowns.

Senior running back Sam Warren and junior receiver Logan Montgomery were on the receiving end of O’Hair’s other touchdowns.

Woodbridge stuck to the running game most of the night. Junior Connor McBride had 154 yards on 23 carries and scored all three of the Warriors’ touchdowns on the ground.

Warriors junior Chase Bradley completed 12 of 17 passes for 54 yards with no touchdowns and one interception.

Montgomery made an impact in all facets. He scored on an 88-yard kickoff return in the third quarter and intercepted a pass late in the fourth to seal the victory.
