Junior Nick Shanks returned the opening kickoff 90 yards for a touchdown, setting the tone for a dominating performance by St. Margaret’s on Thursday night.

The visiting Tartans improved their record to 9-0 as they defeated Dymally, 49-0, in a nonleague game at Dymally High in Los Angeles.

St. Margaret’s, ranked No. 1 in the East Valley Division, took control of the game early, scoring 28 points in the first quarter.

Senior Oscar Gomez scored three touchdowns, on runs of 2, 65 and 19 yards. Gomez finished with 187 yards on 11 carries.

Sophomore quarterback George Krantz had touchdown passes of 6, 40 and 50 yards.

St. Margaret’s finishes the regular season next week with an Academy League game against Calvary Chapel of Downey.
