ALISO VIEJO – With a lot of help from its defense, Saddleback Valley Christian knocked off Aliso Niguel, 24-14, on Thursday in a nonleague game at Aliso Niguel High.

The Warriors intercepted four passes to improve their record to 5-0. Aliso Niguel dropped to 2-4.

Saddleback Valley Christian score the game’s first touchdown when defensive end Ryan Deviso recovered a fumble and returned it to the end zone. The Warriors’ second score was assisted by a 60-yard pass from Cade Henjum to David Molina.

Henjum finished with 155 yards through the air and 32 on the ground. He was able to use his legs on multiple occasions to get outside the pocket or scramble for yards when he needed to.

Aliso Niguel quarterback Nick Chapman also put up some good numbers, throwing for 223 yards and one touchdown.
