HUNTINGTON BEACH – Running back Greg Tocchetti proved to be too much for Bolsa Grande’s defense as he led Ocean View to a 41-0 nonleague win Friday night at Ocean View High.
Tocchetti rushed for 191 yards and four touchdowns on 18 carries.
The Seahawks (3-1) produced 423 yards of offense, in large part because of its running game. Tocchetti scored Ocean View’s first four touchdowns and gave it a commanding lead halfway through the third quarter.
After that quarterback Blake Meyer took over, setting up Hector Calderon and Tyler Clay for the last two scores. Meyer finished 6 for 15 passing for 84 yards.
Bolsa Grande was plagued by fumbles and penalties, and neither of its quarterbacks was able to get going. Anthony Porras started and went 4 for 8 for 48 yards, while Reno Lace finished 1 for 8 for 9 yards.
The Matadors (0-4) managed just 79 yards of offense, as Ocean View was able to shut down their running game. Running back Travis Crawford tallied 8 yards on four carries. Wide receiver Andres Arreola caught four passes for 48 yards and added another 3 on the ground.
