SANTA ANA – Just about everything Bellflower tried offensively worked Saturday night.

The Buccaneers produced 453 yards of offense in routing Santa Ana Valley, 45-0, in a nonleague game at Santa Ana Stadium.

Demetrius Reed completed 15 of 26 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns for Bellflower. Marquise Lowe blew by defenders at an alarming rate, averaging 13.2 yards per carry as he put up 146 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

It was a night to forget for Santa Ana Valley (2-2). It was the first time that the Falcons had been shutout since Oct.11, 2012, when they lost to Katella, 34-0.

Louis Aceves provided a bright spot for the Falcons. He was the team’s leading rusher with 76 yards. Juan Romero followed with 31 yards, and Cesar Ibarra topped Falcons receivers with three catches for 31 yards.

Oscar Sanchez and Jesus Lopez recovered fumbles for Santa Ana Valley.

Lowe opened the scoring with a 1-yard run on the Buccaneers’ first possession. He was the featured player on Bellflower’s following drive, too.

After a Falcons punt buried Bellflower inside its 1-yard line, Lowe got the Buccaneers (4-0) out of trouble with a 12-yard run on the first play. He had three carries for 52 yards, including a 32-yard burst to the end zone to double Bellflower’s lead, 14-0.

In the second quarter, Bellflower opened up its passing game. Reed threw for 127 yards and two touchdowns in the period, as the Buccaneers extended their lead to 28-0 at the half.
