TEXT BY STEVE FRYER, OCVARSITY.COM; KEVIN SULLIVAN, THE ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER
When we came up with our O.C. preseason Hot 100 countdown for high school football, we had pretty good success at listing the players who would have a big 2010 season.
But we weren't perfect.
Click through the slide show for a list of players, like Servite's Malik Felton (pictured), who showed during the regular season and so far in the playoffs that they belong among the Hot 100 players in the county:

When we came up with our O.C. preseason Hot 100 countdown for high school football, we had pretty good success at listing the players who would have a big 2010 season.(Hot 100: Players 1-50Hot 100: Players 51-100)

But we weren't perfect.

Here's a list of players who showed during the regular season and so far in the playoffs that they belong among the Hot 100 players in the county:

Tyler Siudzinski, Tustin -- Junior burst onto the scene as a 2,000-yarder, including 170 against Orange Lutheran.

Gary Ferman, Segerstrom --- Senior gained almost 1,800 yards and heavy recruiting interest from Sacramento State

Buzzy Yokoyama: The Sailors junior running back busted onto the scene by rushing for 283 and 260 yards in Weeks 2 and 3 respectively. He missed three weeks with a sprained knee and still finished the season with 1,247 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.

Diego Mendoza: The Tillers senior linebacker/running back led the county with eight interceptions. He also rushed for 903 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Bryan Keller (Mission Viejo): The Diablos senior wide receiver became one of the county's best pass receivers on the county's most prolific offense in 2010, racking up over 1,000 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns so far.

Cory Thomson (Santa Margarita): The Eagles senior was the team's leading rusher, averaged 6.4 yards a carry, and scored a team-high 15 touchdowns.

Zack Rivera, a 6-0, 190-pound junior has been an all-purpose threat for Beckman, rushing for 837 yards on 126 carries. He also has 47 catches for 596 yards and six touchdowns. Rivera has also completed 1 of 3 passes for 62 yards and one touchdown, helping Beckman get to the title game.

Running back Jeff Kim, a 5-10, 180-pound junior, has rushed for 1,583 yards on 249 carries and 16 tds.

Adam Young, Santa Margarita, QB. At the start of the season, many might have overlooked the Eagles. Young made sure that didn't last long. He accounted for 2,519 yards, passed for 19 touchdowns, rushed for 10 and kicked two field goals.

Ricky Bautista, Northwood, QB. Bautista led the Timberwolves to the CIF-SS Southern Division semifinals, completed 61.6 percent of his passes for 2,529 yards with 27 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Andrew Faraimo, Los Alamitos, LB – If you went to a Los Alamitos football game, you often heard "tackle by Faraimo." He was among the county's quicker and hard hitting linebackers.

Malik Felton, Servite, RB – A little used wide receiver, Felton stepped in at running back when starter Sean DeRosa was injured. Felton quickly became Servite's top offensive weapon.

Colton Christensen, Santa Margarita, LB – Teams often put their best athletes at linebacker. It is a position that requires speed, toughness and quick-thinking – and Christensen excelled at every aspect of the position.

Jovanny Melendez, Tustin, OL – That Tustin running game relies on a sturdy offensive line. Melendez was the leader of the line, as the Tillers' ground game again produced plenty of yards and plenty of points.

Josh Webb, Garden Grove, WR/QB/DB/RB – Need a touchdown? Just have Webb on the field, who got the Argonauts points throwing the ball, running with it, catching it or returning an interception for six.

Austin Maass, Mission Viejo, OL – The foundation for a great offense is the offensive line. Maas might have been the best of an excellent group of linemen at Mission Viejo.
