LAGUNA BEACH – Segerstrom used its ball-control offense to post a 41-10 win at Laguna Beach on Friday.

Three Jaguars running backs – Julian Vagilenty, Sam Sandoval and Denilson Santamaria – combined to rush for 238 yards. Segerstrom (3-0) had possession of the ball for 20 of the 24 minutes in the second half.

Segerstrom scored before its offense took the field. After muffing a punt, Keith Morales picked up the ball and returned it for a 95-yard touchdown to give the Jaguars an early 7-0 lead.

Laguna Beach (2-1) tied the score in the second quarter when Curtis Harrison rolled to his right and found Ryan Blaser for a 3-yard TD pass.

Sean Nolan added a 38-yard field goal to give the Breakers a 10-7 lead. But Sandoval scored on a 3-yard run to put Segerstrom up 14-10 at halftime.

The Laguna Beach offense did not see much of the field after that. Vagilenty capped a seven-minute drive with a 1-yard touchdown run to give the Jaguars a 10-point lead.

After a three-and-out from the Breakers offense, Vagilenty scored on a 10-yard run with a host of Laguna Beach defenders on his back to make it 27-10.

JC Caravez and Angel Lopez scored for the Jaguars in the fourth quarter.

Harrison completed 13 of 25 pass attempts for 124 yards for the Breakers. Nolan and Blaser had 72 and 53 receiving yards, respectively.

First-year Segerstrom coach Joe Tagaloa has led Segerstrom to its first 3-0 start since 2012. The Jaguars have outscored their opponents 86-18.

Segerstrom hosts Godinez in the Fundamental Bowl next Friday.
