IRVINE – After three straight losses, Woodbridge went into its game with Segerstrom in search of a complete performance.

That is exactly what it got during a 21-11 victory over the visiting Jaguars in a nonleague game Friday night at University High.

Leading 7-3 late in the third quarter, the run-oriented Warriors got a big passing play when quarterback Chase Bradley found receiver Jared Kaleikini for a 72-yard strike, giving his team a 14-3 advantage.

The Warriors capped off its scoring in the fourth quarter when Alex Young ran it in from 8-yards out, clinching the victory.

For most of the game it was Connor McBride who shouldered the load for the Warriors (2-3), rushing for 268 yards on 30 carries, including 192 yards on 20 carries in the first half.

McBride’s longest run came with his team trailing 3-0. His 69-yard run set up Woodbridge’s first score, a 7-yard run by McBride for an early 7-3 lead.

Segerstrom (2-2-1) scored its lone touchdown with 50 seconds left when Qyren Macias scored on a 6-yard touchdown.

Segerstrom had chances early, but failed to execute. After Avalos found Zamani Nunez with a 25-yard pass, Segerstrom fumbled at the 2-yard line and the ball went through the end zone for a touchback.
