ANAHEIM – Adrian Quezada’s 2-yard touchdown run with 12 seconds remaining propelled Kennedy to a dramatic come-from-behind, 28-23 victory over Northwood in a nonleauge game Thursday night at Glover Stadium.

Chase Walmsley’s 37-yard field goal gave the Timberwolves (1-1) a 23-21 lead with 1:24 to play, but the Fighting Irish moved the ball 80 yards in just over a minute on the winning drive.

Kennedy, aided by two Northwood personal fouls and a 28-yard run by T.J. Williams, moved the ball to the Northwood 2-yard line before Quezada scored the game-winner on a quarterback sneak.

“It’s amazing,” said Quezada, who rushed for 100 yards and passed for 118 yards. “We felt confident on the last drive and we had the momentum.”

Williams had another huge game for the Fighting Irish (1-1). He rushed for 210 yards and two touchdowns.

Trailing, 14-0, at halftime Kennedy battled back to tie the score at 14 following two third-quarter touchdowns.

Quezada completed a 76-yard TD pass to Joey Ortega for the Timberwolves’ first score. Then, Williams bolted up the middle 59 yards for the tying touchdown.

The Timberwolves countered with a six-play, 79-yard scoring drive capped off by a 30-yard TD pass from Trevor Lawrence to Andy Clyde. Northwood misfired on a 2-point attempt and led, 20-14.

Williams added a 6-yard TD run midway through the fourth quarter as Kennedy retook the lead 21-20.

Lawrence completed 19 passes for 227 yards and a TD. Clyde caught 9 passes for 122 yards and a TD. Liam Akiva rushed for 60 yards for Northwood.
