TUSTIN – Paloma Valley running back Demarco Prewitt ran for 120 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Wildcats to a 35-12 victory over Tustin on Friday night in a nonleague game at Tustin High.

The Wildcats (2-2) used an up-tempo offensive attack that gashed the Tillers (3-1) to the tune of 281 rushing yards. The Wildcats were in control for most of the game and tired the Tillers defense in the second half.

Wildcats quarterback Raine Pohaku Kaheaku-Paiva finished with 115 passing yards and 108 rushing yards with one rushing touchdown.

The Tillers were dealt a blow late in the first quarter when, trailing 7-0, quarterback Alema Pilimai left the game with a ribcage injury. Receiver George Wilson was called upon to replace Pilimai at quarterback.

The second quarter ended on a wild sequence when Tillers receiver Aramie Faletoi fumbled at the 3-yard line at the end of his 43-yard reception, but Tillers receiver Deon Faaseu recovered in the end zone to cut Paloma Valley’s lead to 14-12.

But Wildcats kick returner Fred Lundy returned the ensuing kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown, giving his team a 21-12 halftime lead. The Wildcats scored twice more in the second half.
