1. Mater Dei, 14-1

Eleven different Monarchs scored in the team’s 90-55 win over Palisades High at the Matt Denning Classic. That type of depth makes Mater Dei prohibitive favorites to keep rolling when Trinity League play begins this week.

2. Brea Olinda, 10-2

The Ladycats won the West Coast Jamboree Diamond bracket last week, cashing in on a pair of 22-point performances from Reili Richardson and Tyiona Watkins in their 65-62 championship win over Carondelet High.

3. Troy, 7-4

The Warriors have yet to play an Orange County opponent. That all changes this Saturday when Troy hosts No. 4 Fairmont Prep in the week’s marquee matchup.

4. Fairmont Prep, 11-2

The Huskies won their brackets at both the Nike Tournament of Champions and the West Coast Jamboree in consecutive weeks. A loss to La Jolla Country Day on Saturday snapped a seven-game win streak.

5. Orangewood Academy, 12-0

The unbeaten Spartans embark on their most challenging week yet. Orangewood will travel to Cantwell-Sacred Heart later today, host St. Paul on Thursday before its showdown with No. 6 Orange Lutheran at home on Saturday.

6. Orange Lutheran, 11-3

After beating Loyola Academy (Illinois), 33-29, in the first game of the Red Mountain Holiday Classic last week, the Lancers lost to the Ramblers, 33-29, in the tournament’s championship game.

7. Los Alamitos, 9-5

Freshman point guard Cailyn Crocker impressed even in defeat at the Matt Denning Classic over the weekend. The Griffins youngster scored a team-high 17 points against the Bishop’s School.

8. Huntington Beach, 13-3

The Oilers have won six straight since the Nike Tournament of Champions, and have toppled those opponents by an average margin of 29 points.

9. Canyon, 12-1

The Comanches already have more wins this season than they had all of last year (10). Canyon will travel and take on Cypress this Thursday evening.

10. Foothill, 10-3

Sydney Sharpe is lighting it up of late, averaging 28.5 points in her last four outings. The Knights host Santa Margarita on Friday night.
