Like he did against Edison, Aaron Simpson stepped in as quarterback against JSerra and pushed Friars to 39-38 win. This week: vs. Orange Lutheran at Cerritos College, Friday
7. JSerra (5-1, 39)
Big night for Avery Williams (138 yards rushing, 91 yards receiving) in 39-38 loss to Servite. This week: vs. Santa Margarita at Saddleback College, Friday

Stallions took their bye week last week, now face rugged South Coast League opponents. This week: at El Toro, Friday
9. La Habra (5-1, 35)
Passing game faltered, so Highlanders relied upon running game led by Cortlin Taylor (153 rushing yards, four touchdowns) to beat Sonora, 35-7. This week: vs. Buena Park, Friday
