O.C. TOP 10 (1-12-15)
1. Mater Dei, 14-1
The Monarchs keep knocking off very good teams by large margins. Last week it was North Torrance and Redondo Union.
2. Brea Olinda, 12-2
Only played one game last week, a 39-point beatdown of Diamond Bar (6-9).
3. Foothill, 13-2
The Knights keep beating quality O.C. teams. Santa Margarita (12-6) was added to that list last week.
4. JSerra, 12-3
Lions are back in the mix with Coco Miller back. Trinity League opener is Mater Dei on Tuesday.
5. Troy, 8-5
No games for the Warriors last week, but Freeway League play begins Tuesday.
6. Orange Lutheran, 13-3
Wins over San Clemente and No. 9 Orangewood Academy last week have the Lancers on the verge of the top 5.
7. El Dorado, 12-5
A 13-point loss to J.W. North of Riverside (5-7), which JSerra handled with ease a few weeks ago, drops the Golden Hawks.
8. Fairmont Prep, 11-2
The Huskies are looking even better now that Cypress transfer Cierra Hall is eligible to play.
9. Orangewood Academy, 12-3
The Spartans went 1-1 last week, with a win over Cantwell-Sacred Heart (12-3), but even the loss shows improvement. They lost by 14 points to OLu in December. The margin was only six on Saturday.
10. Woodbridge, 10-5
The Pacific Coast League favorites make their first appearance in the Top 10 after defeating defending champ University (10-7) last week.
Others: Tesoro (14-3), San Clemente (9-7), Edison (10-6), Huntington Beach (12-4), Los Alamitos (12-5), Rosary (10-7), Sonora (12-4).
