3. Canyon, 8-2 (39)
An abundance of excellent shooters who play wicked defense has the Comanches moving up from No. 6 last week after winning the North Orange County Championships.
4. Foothill, 9-1 (34)
Knights went 3-1 in the Nike Invitational at Clovis West High near Fresno. They won the Jim Harris Memorial Tournament of Champions earlier this month.
5. Sonora, 8-3 (30)
Back-to-back losses, to Canyon and La Mirada, in the Raiders’ final two games of the North Orange Count tourney dropped them from last week’s No. 3 ranking.
6. Saddleback Valley Christian, 6-2 (22)
Warriors did not play last week after winning the Spartan Classic at Orangewood Academy the previous week.
7. Santa Margarita, 9-1 (21)
Eagles went 3-1 in their own tournament last week. This is one of several teams that will improve plenty when transferred-in players become eligible Jan. 5.
8. Edison, 8-3 (13)
Chargers advanced to championship game of the North Orange County tournament in which they lost to Canyon.
9. Los Alamitos, 8-1 (10)
This quick, athletic team won the Wilkins tournament at Westminster High.
10. Villa Park, 6-2 (8)
Spartans advanced to Titan Pride Classic final in which they lost to Morningside of Inglewood.
