WEDNESDAY’S BOYS WATER POLO SEMIFINALS

DIVISION 2

DAMIEN (22-9) vs. FOOTHILL (26-2)

Site, time: William Woollett Jr. Aquatics Center, 6:30 p.m.

Outlook: The top-seeded Knights used a strong second half against El Toro on Saturday to reach a third consecutive Division 2 semifinal and continue the defense of their Division 2 crown. Foothill is seeking to repeat as a CIF champion for the first time. The last time Foothill didn’t reach the semifinals, it fell to Damien in the 2012 quarterfinals. Foothill is undefeated in Division 2 this fall, including a 14-10 triumph against host Damien on Oct. 23. Foothill led at halftime, 8-4, so the second half was even. Damien is one of the section’s most improved teams, snapping Santa Barbara’s long winning streak in the quarterfinals. The Knights also are rolling with 12 consecutive victories, including a title at the Memorial Cup.

Albano’s prediction: Foothill
