There will be several former Orange County water polo standouts in the upcoming NCAA women’s water polo tournament. The tournament selections were officially introduced Monday night. Here’s the field:
UC Irvine’s Big West Conference runner-up women’s water polo team (19-8) received an at-large berth to the NCAA tournament, May 8-10, at Stanford.
The field also includes UCLA, USC, UC San Diego, Whittier College, Cal, Hawaii, Princeton, Wagner and Stanford.
UC Irvine plays Cal in the first round.
