U.S. national team water polo player Thomas Dunstan of New Canaan in Connecticut, who applied for enrollment to Mater Dei in June, said he will not be attending the Orange County powerhouse, he said in a text message Wednesday.
“I am staying in CT (Connecticut),” he said.
Dunstan is a left-handed junior-to-be who has played for the U.S. national team and helped the U.S. youth team capture the Junior Pan American Games over the summer.
Even without the addition of Dunstan, Mater Dei is likely to open atop Orange County’s preseason rankings.
