Villa Park’s 10th-ranked boys water polo team rallied from a three-goal deficit at halftime to defeat No. 9 Santa Margarita, 10-9, in a nonleague match Thursday.

Troy Furniss scored three goals for the Spartans (3-0) while Dash Farr, Bret Leiter and Bradley Wilson each added two apiece.

Noah Hodge made 18 saves for the Eagles (4-4).

In another nonleague game:

No. 8 El Toro 12, Laguna Beach 11: The visiting Chargers (3-0) outscored the Breakers, 7-3, in the second half en route to the victory. El Toro won the fourth period, 2-0.

No. 1 Mater Dei 13, Murrieta Valley 7: The Monarchs (4-1) opened a 7-1 lead after the first period and cruised behind four goals by Princeton-bound center Sean Duncan and lefty Luke Wyatt.

No. 6 Dana Hills 11, Palos Verdes 7: Bennett Williams scored six goals and Riley Zachary made 13 saves to lead the visiting Dolphins.

No. 5 Orange Lutheran 17, Cerritos 9: Parker Killion scored four goals to lead the Lancers (4-3), who led, 9-4, at halftime. Ash Molthen added four assists.

Beckman 15, Segerstrom 7: Center Collin Sohn scored nine goals and goalie Matthew Tran made nine saves to lead the visiting Patriots.
