Quarterback Brock Johnson threw two touchdown passes and Mission Viejo’s defense dominated much of the game as the Diablos captured the CIF-SS West Valley Division football title on Saturday with a 21-10 victory over Vista Murrieta at Angel Stadium.

Rome Innocenzi scored on a 14-yard run to give Mission Viejo a 7-0 lead in the second quarter.

Johnson and Connor Hill connected on two touchdown passes – 28 and 36 yards — and the latter gave Mission Viejo a 21-3 lead with 3:45 to go in the third quarter.

Mission Viejo’s defense held Vista Murrieta without a first down for much of the second half.
