Megan Armes, the senior captain of the No. 7-ranked Diablos, has been a true leader for Mission Viejo during her career, said Coach Renate Schmidt.
Her talents have already landed her a scholarship to St. Mary’s.
“Even though Megan is the back-bone of the Mission Viejo team, she has given back to the sport of girls lacrosse by coaching an under-12 girls team, acting as captain for her high school team and committing herself to a Division 1 school,” Schmidt said.
“Many individuals play lacrosse, but Megan lives lacrosse. She has been on numerous club teams, travel teams such as the WDNT and was even invited to participate in the tryouts for the U.S. National team last spring. She has a bright future at St Mary's and will continue to hone her lacrosse skills.”
Armes has stayed in the top 10 of scoring statistics for the state all season. This past week Armes had nine goals and 13 ground balls. She is ranked No.1 in ground balls, third in goals and third in draw percentages on Lax Power for California.
