Vazquez is described as a driven and focused student. He’s also a two-sport athlete at Sonora. He competes on the track team and is a starting linebacker and a team captain for the Raiders (5-0). This is Vazquez’s second year playing football. He’s enrolled in AP/IB Biology, IB English 4, AP Statistics, Spanish 4 and Economics. Vazquez is involved in the Impact Peer Mentoring Program, National Honor Society and is the community representative for the California Scholarhip Federation. Vazquez is a junior core member in Youth Ministry and is a Eucharistic Minister at St. Bruno’s Church. He’s also volunteered more than 240 hours through his junior year at various locations like: Interfaith Food Center, St. Bruno’s carnival and youth ministry retreats and programs, Sonora’s food, toy and book drives, Ronald McDonald House, CHOC Hospital, on-campus tutoring and instructing youth ice hockey and soccer players. Vazquez’s list of schools are topped by his favorites of USC, Notre Dame, SMU and Creighton.
