Edison’s boys water polo team notched a breakthrough victory Friday at the Villa Park Classic.
The unranked Chargers upset the No. 8 Cougars, 12-11, in overtime in a third-round consolation match at El Toro.
Alex Nathan (five goals) and Jake Moss (four) combined for nine goals for Edison (11-6).
The loss could drop Capistrano Valley from its top spot in Division 3. Laguna Beach and Murrieta Valley, ranked second and third, respectively, play this morning at 10 at Murrieta Valley.
