Swimming highlights from Wednesday:

In the Pacific Coast League:

No. 1 University 119, No. 3 Northwood 51: Daniel Tran captured the 200-yard individual medley (1 minute, 51.73 seconds) and 100 backstroke (50.91) in All-America consideration times to help the host Trojans improve to 4-0 in league.

Duke-bound Judd Howard claimed the 100 breaststroke with a time of 58.38, finishing one one-hundredth of a second ahead of USC-bound Billy Monjay of Northwood (58.39).

Will Hofstadter of University swept the 50 and 100 freestyles. He won the 50 by just over a second with a 21.45 and took the 100 free in 47.29. Northwood’s Peter Zhu touched second in 47.92.

University edged Northwood in the 200 free relay by about a tenth of a second with a 1:28.83.

In the Orange Coast League:

Laguna Beach 95, Calvary Chapel 72: Erik Juliusson of the host Breakers won the butterfly in 51.76 to out-duel the Eagles’ Donny Hadden (53.28).

In girls swimming:

In the Sea View League:

Aliso Niguel 116, Laguna Hills 51: Freshman Victoria Gong anchored two winning relays and captured the 100 free (55.87) as the visiting Wolverines improved to 3-0 in the league.
