Not very often does a three-match singles sweep of No. 2 Corona del Mar serve as a footnote to a player’s week, but when that particular week ends with an Ojai Valley Tennis Tournament singles championship the headline becomes quite clear.
Last weekend, Brymer became just the fourth two-time singles champion in the 112-year history of the famed tournament by winning 12 straight sets against six of the best high school tennis players around.
The junior won single sets 6-0 and 7-5, three sets 6-1 and 6-2, and a pair of sets 6-3 and 6-4 on his way to back-to-back titles.
