Los Al top seed for U.S. Lacrosse girls playoffs
Opening round games on Tuesday.
Los Alamitos girls lacrosse team, the three-time defending U.S.Lacrosse Division 1 South and Southern California champion, is the top seed again for this year's playoffs beginning Tuesday.
Sixteen teams are entered in the playoffs, which are run by U.S. Lacrosse. All opening round games are Tuesday with the second round on Thursday.
Los Alamitos will open the U.S. Lacrosse Division 1 South playoffs Tuesday, hosting No. 16 Yorba Linda at 4:30 p.m.
"We are definitely happy to be ranked No. 1 headed into the playoffs," said Coach Liz Connelly. "Our team works hard all year for these next couple of weeks. We are well-prepared and reaching our peak performance just at the right time."
Foothill is the No. 2 seed and will host No. 15 Esperanza Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
Beckman is the No. 3 seed and will host No. 15 Laguna Hills Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
Some playoff times will be finalized on Monday.
Opening round on Tuesday:
No. 16 Yorba Linda at No. 1 Los Alamitos, 4:30 p.m.; No. 9 Mission Viejo at No. 8 Aliso Niguel, 7:30 p.m.; No.13 Tesoro at No. 4 Santa Margarita, 7 p.m.; No. 12 Trabuco Hills at No. 5 Mater Dei, time TBA.
No. 15 Esperanza at No. 2 Foothill, 5:30 p.m.; No. 10 Capistrano Valley at No. 7 Corona del Mar, 4:30 p.m.; No. 14 Laguna Hills at No. 3 Beckman, 4:30 p.m.; No. 11 El Toro at No. 6 El Dorado, time TBA.
