Orange County’s 7-on-7 passing season for high school football teams begins in earnest Saturday with the San Juan Hills-hosted Gunslinger Tournament.

The list of entries includes JSerra, Mater Dei, Edison, Oaks Christian of Westlake Village and St. John Bosco.

Here are a few other tournaments to watch this spring and summer:

Air Strike, May 30: The Dana Hills-hosted event is annually one of the best. Mater Dei, Santa Margarita, JSerra, Orange Lutheran and Tesoro are among the expected teams.

Rumble at the Ranch, June 13: Mission Viejo and senior-to-be quarterback Brock Johnson are heading to the El Rancho-hosted tournament in Pico Rivera for the first time.

Battle of the Beach, July 11: The Edison-hosted event might be the most competitive of the offseason. The field is expected to include Pac-5 Division champion Centennial of Corona, Serra of Gardena and several Trinity League schools.

Mission Viejo, July 11: Diablos’ annual tournament also features a competition for linemen.

Huntington Beach, July 18: St. John Bosco, Tesoro, San Clemente, El Toro, Bishop Amat of La Puente and Crespi of Encino are among the entries.
