The top-ranked Huntington Beach boys volleyball captured a second consecutive Best of the West Invitational title, defeating Loyola of Los Angeles in two sets in the finals.

The Oilers, who have now won 77 consecutive matches, dropped just one set during the two-day tournament in San Diego.

San Clemente finished fifth and Newport Harbor was 13th in the Gold Division.

In the Silver Division, Corona del Mar and Edison finished fifth and seventh, respectively. Servite was fourth in the Bronze Division.

At the Foothill Varsity Classic

Fifth-ranked Los Alamitos defeated seventh-ranked Foothill, 25-15, 25-18 in the finals. Cole Thompson was selected tournament MVP for the Griffins. Harrison Knott and Austin Marriott were all-tournament selections.

Orange Lutheran swept Villa Park, 25-22, 25-12 in the finals of the Surf City Classic.
