For the second time in eight days, the Mater Dei boys golf team was at the top of the leader board.
under par 68 from freshman Issei Tanabe, the Monarchs posted a 309 at Spring Valley Lake Country Club in Victorville to win the team portion of the tournament.
Last Monday, Mater Dei opned the season with a triumph in the Ayala Tournament at Los Serrano’s Country Club in Chino.
Tanabe’s 68 was good enough to win the individual portion of the tournament, beating his teammate Jacob Biss by six strokes.
Marcus de La Rosa and Jack LeBeau added a 74 and 76 respectively for the Monarchs.
