MISSION VIEJO – The Saddleback Valley Christian Warriors had no trouble with the California Military Institute on Friday, defeating the Rough Riders, 56-6, in a nonleague game at Tesoro High.

The Warriors scored on eight out of nine possessions.They had 291 yards rushing with three running backs finding the end zone.

David Molina began the scoring for the Warriors on a 12-yard touchdown run early in the first quarter. After an interception by James Madison, Molina scored again on a swing pass to increase the lead to 16-0.

Quarterback Cade Henjum was nearly perfect in the first half, completing 10 of 11 passes for 145 yards and three touchdowns. Henjum threw an 8-yard touchdown pass to Jonathan Robinson to put the Warriors up 23-0 to end the first quarter.

SVC didn’t let up. On the first possession of the second quarter, Molina scored his third touchdown of the night on an 18-yard run.

After a series of penalties, Henjum hit Molina on a fade route for a 50-yard touchdown.

Madison intercepted a pass from Rough Riders quarterback Angel Vega and returned it 27 yards for a touchdown.

Dalton Lohman ran for a 67-yard touchdown at the end of the half.

In the second half, the Warriors relied on freshman running backs Isaac Moreno and Josiah Taufi to run the clock out. Taufi had 91 yards on 12 attempts with a touchdown.

The Warriors play Calvary Chapel next Friday for their Homecoming Game.
