HUNTINGTON BEACH – Brethren Christian quarterback Conner Miller passed for 336 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 104 and one touchdown to lead his team to a 48-14 Academy League victory over Sage Hill on Friday night at Ocean View.

Miller, a senior, has an Orange County-best 38 touchdown passes, three short of tying the county’s single-season record. He threw a 34-yard touchdown pass to Guy Demazeliere on Brethren’s first possession and the Warriors (6-2-1 overall, 2-1 league) never looked back.

Sage Hill (3-5, 0-2) cut the lead to 21-7 in the second quarter when CJ McCord threw a 76-yard touchdown pass to Jacob Fisher off a double reverse.

Brethren running back Andrew Assaf’s second rushing touchdown of the first half gave the Warriors a 28-14 lead, then Miller connected with receiver Joshua Gorrell for a 33-yard touchdown and a 35-14 lead with 8:47 left in the third.

Miller’s rushing touchdown covered 35 yards, and he also intercepted a pass early in the fourth quarter. Demazeliere led Brethren with 165 receiving yards.
