All-CIF basketball player Dawit Wilson, also an All-South Coast League quarterback, has withdrawn from El Toro.

Wilson is listed on the Cantwell Sacred Heart of Montebello football roster at MaxPreps.com.

He was El Toro’s starting quarterback and started at guard for the basketball team this past school year.

El Toro basketball coach Todd Dixon and to Chargers football coach Mike Mayoral confirmed Wilson’s departure.

Wilson, listed as 6-foot-2 and 180 pounds last season as a junior, was selected to the All-CIF Southern Section Division 2AA basketball first team this past winter. He was named all-league second team in football and first team in basketball.

Wilson averaged 15 points a game for the basketball team. In football, he averaged 213 passing yards a game, completed 55 percent of his passes and threw for 27 touchdowns.

He was included on the OC Varsity list of top 35 football recruits for 2016.

Wilson was at El Toro as a freshman and played on the Chargers’ varsity basketball team. He transferred to Long Beach Poly for his sophomore year, then returned to El Toro for his junior year.
