TOP GIRLS WRESTLERS TO WATCH
Diana Castaneda, Godinez, Sr.: Castaneda has finished in the top 12 at the state in each of the previous two years. She enters this year ranked sixth in the state at 126.
Claribel Estrada, Santa Ana, Jr.: Estrada placed eighth at 170 pounds at last year’s state tournament. She’s ranked fifth in the state this year.
Gabby Garcia, Valencia, Jr.: Garcia has her sights set on a third consecutive state title. She has titles at 108 and 121 pounds. This year’s she’s at 126.
Aleeah Gould, Canyon, Jr.: Gould placed fifth at the state tournament last year. She’s ranked in the state at 111 pounds.
Diana Hernandez, Godinez, Sr.: Hernandez was third at CIF and top 12 at state. Hernandez is ranked eighth at 116 in the preseason state poll.
Josahandy Moreno, Santa Ana, Jr.: Moreno opened the season with a second place at the Savanna Rebel Rumble. She’s ranked second in the Southern Section.
