The top-two ranked teams in this week’s SoCal Varsity Top 20 are finally going to collide Friday.

In perhaps the most anticipated game of the regular-season, top-ranked St. John Bosco plays host to No. 2 Mater Dei in the Trinity League opener for both teams. Last season, the Braves beat Mater Dei in league and the Pac-5 final en route to a 16-0 season and national title.

But that’s not the only big game in the Trinity this week. The clashes between Santa Margarita-JSerra and Orange Lutheran-Servite on Friday also involve teams ranked in the top-10 for SoCal. That’s how strong the Trinity League is this season.
