Dominguez helps Valencia celebrate in style

Special to OCVarsity.com

PLACENTIA - Valencia High celebrated its 75th anniversary with a Homecoming fireworks display Friday night matched by the Tigers’ explosive second half.

Running back Isaac Dominguez gained 178 of his 224 yards after halftime, leading Valencia to a 28-17 victory over Capistrano Valley at Bradford  Stadium.

"He (Dominguez) has really been improving every week," Tigers coach Mike Marrujo said. "That was his best game so far at Valencia."

The Tigers might have given their most balanced offensive showing of the season, gaining 186 yards on the ground and 191 throught the air.

Capistrano Valley took its first  lead on a 2-yard touchdown run by Bardia Rezael with 27 seconds remaining in the half.

The Tigers countered midway through the third quarter with a 17-yard gallop by Dominguez, who later caught an 80-yard TD pass from Dave Pina.
