Non-O.C. player to watch: Branden Rankins, Aquinas, Jr. RB. He is averaging 199 rushing yards a game and 11 yards a carry.
Analysis: If Pacifica plays as well as it did Friday against Kennedy, the Mariners can advance deep into this division. And if they beat Pasadena Poly in the first round, they likely would play Aquinas in the second round, which would be a Pacifica home game. Pacifica has a an excellent playmaking quarterback in Ben Jefferson. This is the division in which Brethren Christian would be playing if Brethren did not have to go through all of that freelance/at-large team business. This division looks as wide open as any of them.
