The CIF-Southern Section baseball playoff brackets will be released Monday.

In most divisions there will be more qualifiers than there are berths in the 32-team brackets. Wild-card round games will be played Tuesday (Divisions 2, 4 and 6) and Wednesday (Divisions 3, 5 and 7) in those divisions to reduce the number of qualifiers to 32 teams for the first-round games Thursday (Divisions 2, 4 and 6) and Friday (Divisions 1, 3, 5 and 7).

Teams that are their leagues’ No. 1 playoff representatives will get a first-round home game against another’s league’s No. 3 or No. 4 team. No. 2 teams might open with a home game or a road game, and usually against another league’s No. 2 team.

Nos. 3 and 4 teams might play in the wild-card round or might be sent straight to the first round. Either way, Nos. 3 and 4 teams will be visiting teams in the first round and usually against another league’s No. 1 team.
