The Mann Classic is set up for an interesting battle for the team title.

Due to a computer issue, exact team scores were unavailable at the end of the first day, but according to coach Alan Clinton, Mayfair, Servite and Yucaipa all ended the first day within striking distance of each other.

The tournament is taking place at Santiago Canyon College.

At the start of the quarterfinals, Mayfair led the field with 72 points, followed by Yucaipa (61), Servite (56.5) and Cypress (45.5).

The Friars will begin the second day with four in the semifinals (Levi Ball-Bryant, heavyweight; Troy Madrigal, 145; Teddy Okada, 126 and Josh Medina, 120). They will have eight others alive in the consolation round.

Cypress is another team to watch. The Centurions began the quarterfinal round in fourth place.

Wrestling begins at 10 a.m., with the championship semifinals set to begin at 11 a.m.

At the Zinkin Classic

Calvary Chapel’s Elijah Palacio (120), Luciano Arroyo (126) and Laguna Hills’ Anthony Le have advanced to the semifinals.
