Woodbridge posted a 1-under-par 359 on Monday at Talega Golf Club to win the CIF-SS South Coast Regional, earning a place in the SCGA So Cal Championship in Desert Hot Springs. 

Junior Joseph Chun led the Warriors with a 3-under-par 69 even though the shaft on his driver broke during warmups.  Hide Yoshihara added a 2-under-par 70 while freshman Vikram Chattergee and Paul Sun carded a 72 and 73 resectively. Senior Nicholas Kumamoto posted a 75. 

“I’m incredibly proud of our team. Our motto was  ‘Be where your feet are. Focus on your process.’,” Woodbridge coach Tracy Roberts said. “It was a great performance against an incredible field of great teams. We look forward to the next event.” 

In the Southern Division final: 

Huntington Beach finished second, behind Long Beach Wilson, at Mile Square Golf Course. The Oilers shot 372.  

Wilson finished 13 under par at 347.

Wilson and Huntington Beach advance to Thursday’s SoCal Championwhip qualifying tournament.
