YORBA LINDA – This is only the fourth season that Yorba Linda has had a varsity boys volleyball program, but success hasn’t been a stranger to the young program.

The Mustangs were 17-6 during the regular season and went 12-0 in the Empire League to claim their second consecutive league championship.

“Our team chemistry is probably the main reason we’ve been so successful,” Yorba Linda coach Daniel Hart said. “We’ve worked very hard for the success that we’ve earned.”

The championship mentality has carried over from last season under the leadership of Hart – who is in his first year of leading the program.

The new coach said his team hasn’t had any issues buying into his plan.

“I’ve coached the majority of (the players) in club and JV levels,” Hart said. “And I do a lot of team chemistry stuff, and they really buy into it and have a good attitude about it.”
