2009 All-County boys tennis: first team
SINGLES
John Huang (University):The Pacific Coast League singles champion reached the quarterfinals of the CIF-SS individual tournament. He lost three matches all season, including twice to Warren Hardie and once in doubles in the semifinals of Ojai. He was named to the All-American team.
Reo Asami (University):Won the Pacific Coast League doubles title, and made his mark in singles as well. The freshman had just one loss - to Mater Dei's Chris Freeman, 5-7 - and was the only player to beat Dana Hills' Hardie in team play.
Chris Freeman (Mater Dei):The Monarchs top singles player reached the quarterfinals of both Ojai and the CIF-SS individual tournament. He also helped Mater Dei reach the semifinals of the Division I team playoffs.
DOUBLES
Michael Tang/Kona Luu (University):The Trojans' top doubles suffered one untimely loss, but won the rest of their sets this season playing one of the toughest schedules in the nation. Luu and Tang's only defeat came in the semifinals of the Pacific Coast League tournament.
Matt Fisher/Parker Rhodes (Corona del Mar):The Sea Kings reached the quarterfinals of the Division I team playoffs, and their play of their top doubles team was a big part. Rhodes and Fisher finished the season 43-3, with two losses coming to University's Tang and Luu, and another to Thousands Oaks in the All-American Tournament.
Justin Agbayani/Brian Hoang (Mater Dei):The Trinity League doubles champions finished the year 43-4. They lost in the Round of 16 at the CIF-SS individual tournament.
