A Pacific storm is producing messy surf along the Orange County coast, making San Clemente High School and Edison High of Huntington Beach glad they got their surf contest in Friday before the storm.
Dark clouds were gathering at San Clemente’s T-Street Beach on Friday as the teams met in a match postponed once before for lack of surf.
San Clemente’s defending National Scholastic Surfing Association champs won, 100-68, improving to 10-0 on the season heading into the NSSA State Championships on March 12-13 at Huntington Beach Pier.
Surfline.com says to expect sloppy knee- to chest-high surf Saturday with gusty winds and rain as the storm passes through the area. Look for similar size on Sunday as skies clear.
