IN THE SPOTLIGHT
Edison. After missing the playoffs in 2008, the Chargers responded by having arguably the best summer passing season in the county. Edison won the Air Strike and its own tournament in June and July, respectively. If the lines develop, the Chargers could be difficult to handle. At the very least, the Chargers should score a ton of points.
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Marina. Inexperience at some key positions could be a hurdle but the upside is that the Vikings have a talented junior class, led by lineman Jackson Clerisse.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Matt Viles, Edison, quarterback: Smart and tough, the senior has a strong connection with a deep group of offensive weapons.
Jordan Zumwalt, Edison, linebacker: The Stanford-bound senior is an intimidating force in the middle. Look for teams to try to avoid him as much as possible.
