Outlook: This is the first state finals appearance for Saddleback Valley Christian. Sacred Heart Cathedral is making its first appearance since 2009. Since losing consecutive matches to La Jolla and Canyon Crest of San Diego in October in a San Diego-area tournament, the Warriors have won 15 consecutive matches. Sacred Heart defeated Archbishop Mitty last month. Mitty is in the Division II final. Jaelyn Greene led the Warriors with 18 kills and Heidi Dyer had 15 in the regional final against Sage Hill. In that match, the Warriors combined for 80 digs, led by Kaitlin O’Brien with 21. The Warriors find ways to win. Another team effort will be needed to capture their first CIF State title.
