CIF STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Saturday

Division I
LOS ALAMITOS (35-5) vs. GRANITE BAY (44-0)
Where, when: Santiago Canyon College, 8 p.m.
Outlook: The Grizzlies are the Sac-Joaquin Section Division 1 champion. They haven’t lost a set since Nov. 5. They’ve only dropped five sets all year. “If nothing else, I know they’re going to be confident,” Los Alamitos coach Dave Huber said. “They have what looks to be a pretty good setter (Taylor Nelson), an outside and a middle that’s pretty good, too. They have some decent size.” Maddy Deters leads Granite Bay with 424 kills and Nicolette Pinkey has 355.  The experience factor is with Los Alamitos, which has dealt with potential elimination matches throughout the playoffs and going through the challenging CIF-SS 1AA playoffs. Los Alamitos defeated Mater Dei at Santiago Canyon College in the 1AA finl on Nov. 23.
