St. John Bosco, coming off a pair of narrow victories in the Trinity League against Mater Dei and JSerra, remains atop the SoCal Varsity Top 20 poll, but the Braves (6-1) have some new company from Orange County in the rankings.

Mission Viejo (6-2) surfaced in the poll at No. 19 after defeating Tesoro, 12-10, in the South Coast League on Friday. But the Diablos couldn’t quite topple the Titans (6-2) in the rankings as Tesoro grabbed the No. 18 spot by a single point. The Titans’ victories against SoCal-ranked Upland and former SoCal-ranked Corona del Mar might be the reason.

Santa Margarita (5-2) moved to seventh in the rankings after edging Orange Lutheran, 42-41, in the Trinity League last week.

This week’s schedule is highlighted with a clash of No. 2 Mater Dei (6-1) and No. 4 JSerra (6-1) at Santa Ana Stadium on Friday.
