Here is an update on the Mater Dei girls volleyball situation:
The ineligible player must sit out the 30-day transfer period, which ends Oct. 6 and an additional 10 matches after that date.
The Monarchs play Rosary in a Trinity League match on Oct. 6. A potential return date could come in late October. The regular season ends Nov. 5 and the playoffs begin the following week.
It was announced Monday that Mater Dei had to forfeit three victories for using an ineligible player. The Monarchs also had to give up a spot in the Division 1 final of the Mohs Tournament.
