Max Weber scored five goals and Stephen Marcin added four as Servite’s No. 9 water polo team opened Trinity League play with a 12-9 victory against No. 4 Orange Lutheran at Santiago Canyon College on Thursday.

Goalie Jeff Sherer had 14 saves for Servite while Matt Kacura netted three goals for the Lancers.

The Friars led, 5-4, at halftime.

In other Trinity League games:

No. 10 Santa Margarita 15, JSerra 8: Center Spencer Lupin scored six goals and Sam Slobodien and Austin Clark each added four to pace the host Eagles in their league opener.

No. 1 Mater Dei 22, St. John Bosco 2: Nick Silvers scored five goals to lead 10 Monarchs in scoring.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Northwood 13, Woodbridge 9 (OT): Michael Garas and J.J. Meador each scored four goals for the visiting Timberwolves, who outscored the Warriors, 4-0, in overtime for the victory. Woodbridge goalie Jason Wong made 19 saves,

In nonleague:

No. 3 Laguna Beach 13, No. 7 Dana Hills 12: The host Breakers scored four goals in the final period to rally past the Dolphins, who got five goals from freshman Kai Hanson. Jack Dodson had four goals and three steals for Laguna Beach.
